We have worked with several interpreter training programs around the country as they transition their lab environments from analog to digital. We supported them as they incorporate these new tools into their curriculum.
Support provided has included:
- Lab design: hardware and software suggestions based on research and surveying ITP labs, storage and network resources and information, management and expansion of stimulus materials to include digital media, furniture and spatial design and logistics
- Training: sessions for instructors and students using Apple applications on the iMac for interpreting tasks, developing efficient workflows, file management, developing extralinguistic knowledge of digital and computing domains and associated terminology
- Tutorial: Providing a multimedia training module to support students and instructors while doing or creating assignments, and to serve as a refresher for the in class training. This Flash based tutorial is available online and offline, and includes screen captures and dynamic animation of step-by-step instructions on how to use Quick Time Pro, iMovie ’06 and iMovie ’09 for interpreting related tasks.
- Consulting: information and referral about products and services, curriculum design and technological trends
